Integrated disciplines
Bachelor's degree programme (2011 guidelines)
According to the regulation, students have to acquire 3 ECTS in the category "Integrated Discipline Construction" (IDK) and another 3 ECTS in the category "Further Integrated Disciplines (FID).
Integrated Discipline Construction (IDK)
IDK should be offered and supervised by the chair the student is enrolled at, together with the supervision of the design project. For this, a learning unit is available in which the students select the lecturers. If IDK cannot be supervised by the design chair, then the supervision can be carried out by BUK, Bautechnologie und Konstruktion, after previous agreement.
The chairs for architectural design are requested to contact BUK at an early stage if they decide not to offer and supervise the integrated discipline construction themselves.
Further Integrated Disciplines (FID)
Generally, all specialized chairs offer contents of their field as a FID. Again, the chairs of architectural design should involve the specialized chairs into their design programme adequately. Please bear in mind that FID supervision cannot be accepted by the specialist without early announcement and agreement.
Master's degree programme (2011 guidelines)
The integrated discipline planning is part of the master's degree programme (3 ECTS) which implicates a student's project in urbanistic scale. Hence, the students enroll in a course within "Architectural Design V-IX" as well as the "Integrated Discipline Planning" of the design chair.
