Application Process for Principal Investigators

General Eligibility/ Potential applicants for an ERC Grant check their eligibility to apply external page HERE. For requirements relating to the various SNSF funding schemes, further information can be found external page HERE.

Integration/ The grant applications need to be explicitly supported by the host institute. Every Applicant needs to have a mentor at the Institute she/he intends to work at. The mentor informs the institute head about the intention to submit a proposal.

Assistant Professorship/ The formal eligibility for the position of an assistant professor needs to be checked internally. To this end, the potential candidates will be requested to submit respective document.

Space Requirements/ Space needs to be provided by the host institute. The department cannot provide space. If no space is available at the institute, the institute head contacts the Managing Director in order to clarify the overall situation.

Support Letter/ If the grant applications are supported by the host institute and the space requirements are met, the department provides the requested Letter of Support and the confirmation regarding the space requirements.

Professors Conference/ The mentor presents the proposal to the Professors conference before the official submission date.
