Elemens of Urban Space

In the seminar on the elements of urban space students analyse streets, squares and quays of different urbanity. Each of these examples is looked at on three specified spatial scales, ranging from the urban localization, on the integration into the quarter up to the architectural expression of the individual buildings. The analytical representation of urban spaces is accomplished by means of plan analysis, drawings, historical and contemporary photographs. The seminar is part of a large -scale research project that examined about 100 unique urban situations in many European cities over several semesters.
