At the Master's ceremony on 5 October at the Department of Architecture in Zurich, 173 graduates received their diplomas: 154 for the Master's in Architecture, 12 for the Master's in Integrated Building Systems and 7 for the Master's in Landscape Architecture. Additionally, several prizes were awarded. Each year, the ETH Medals honour outstanding final theses with prize money of CHF 2,000. Matyas Joseph Enz was honoured for his thesis ‘Heliocentric Architecture’, which explores the potential of solar construction. Samuel Tobias Fuchs received a medal for his project ‘Werkstatt Wangelen’. And Natalia Pieroni was honoured for her master's thesis ‘To adapt + produce: Adapting With Care’.
The sponsorship prize THEO, donated by Theo Hotz Partner Architekten, is endowed with CHF 5,000 per semester and is awarded in the form of a travel grant. Inès Rausis receives a prize for her project ‘The Jetty Shelter’ from the spring semester 2024. In the autumn semester 2023, the THEO prize went to Samuel Tobias Fuchs.
The Willi Studer Prize, donated by the estate of entrepreneur Dr h.c. Willi Studer, has been awarded to the best graduate from each Master's degree programme since 1993. This year, it goes to Leslie Rahel Majer at D-ARCH for her work ‘Nobody is an Island’, which has already been honoured with the SIA Master's Prize. The department congratulates all the prizewinners.
