Before you apply for a mobility semester you must fulfill certain conditions.
Admission requirements
At the time of the application you must have completed as follows:
- first-year examinations (2 examination blocks)
- Design and Construction I and II (2 exercises)
- Architecture and Art I and II (2 exercises)
- Architectural design III and IV (2 design studios)
Please calculate your grade average before taking further steps!
- Grade average minimum 4.50,
calculated from the above performance assessments, weighting 1 - Grade average minimum 4.80,

for Harvard *

European and worldwide programmes
The application with portfolio and nomination at the D-ARCH is compulsory for the participation.
Free places in Europe and worldwide
According to experience there are always free places left. Only those who have applied with a portfolio and have been nominated can claim a free place.
Master students without an ETH Bachelor's degree
For Master students who have not obtained their previous bachelor's degree at ETH Zurich, the following applies:
- It is not possible to participate in an exchange programme without an ETH Bachelor's degree.
- At the D-ARCH this rule is also valid for students with a EPFL Bachelor's degree!
- Even with an additional Master’s semester the participation in an exchange programme is not possible.
- Individual mobility stays are possible, must be self-organised, but the recognition of mobility credit points for the master's degree is not possible.
