Internships
For the completion of the studies, practical activities must be exercised in the field of architecture.
Bachelor's degree programme
Overall, a six-month internship in the field of architecture is required for the acquisition of the diploma. The internship can be added before, during or after the study time. If the internship takes place before the studies, a maximum of six months may be counted if at least three months were done at the same place. See Article 19, paragraph 7 and Article 20 in the academic regulations for the bachelor's degree programme in Architecture.
Master's degree programme
For the acquisition of the Master's degree, a total of twelve months of practical work in the field of architecture is required. At least six months must be completed before the start of the master's degree programme (admission requirement for the master's degree programme).
Primary internships have to be completed in project planning, engineering and design offices as well as in main and secondary building sectors.
Main and secondary building sectors:
- Structural work in civil engineering
- Carpentry companies
- Locksmith companies
- Building services (heating, air condition)
The list is not complete.
Six months of internship are requested in a project planning office. For the remaining six months of internship certificates are accepted which show that students have received an insight into other aspects of construction and building.
A letter from the employer, providing information about the activities and how long they lasted, is required as a confirmation. The letter has to be submitted to the Study Administration Office together with the request to issue the degree.
