General information Master's thesis is provided in German and English, but:

Dates and deadlines are only published on the German website.

Dates and deadlines are only published on the German website.

The duration of the preparation phase is 7 weeks.

  • The grade at the end of the preparation phase is counted as 40% of the final Master's thesis overall grade.
  • The involved chairs (lecturers) determine (depending on the programme) their participation in the grading for the preparation phase and specify this in the enrolment programme.
  • Depending on the preparation work grade, the students decide whether they want to finalize the Master's thesis or break off.  By middle of week 43 (in the autumn semester) respectively by middle of week 14 (in the spring semester) they announce clearly their abandonment to the Study Administration Office and to the accompanying chairs.
  • A termination of the Master's thesis announced in good time (s. above) has no consequences for the student).
  • Important: Depending on the student's decision the enrollment to the Master's thesis has either to be done or deleted at the same time.

- Kolloquium Preparation Phase
